“Anything Was Better” is a triumphant song dedicated to growth and gratitude for new experiences. Though the track deals with a desire to escape, its upbeat nature and references to past struggles prove that anything can be overcome with enough passion.

Vocalist Aimee Interrupter explained the inspiration behind the song in a press release.

“This song is the story of my escape from not necessarily a location but from the pain and trauma of my upbringing,” she says. “It’s also a story of hope and seeking refuge in the unknown. I said goodbye to everyone and everything I ever knew because, in my mind, anything was better than where I was from.”

The Interrupters will embark on their co-headlining tour with Flogging Molly June 7. Check below for a list of tour dates and get your tickets here.
