'The Lion King' trailer gives wild first look at Scar, Pumbaa, more

Disney has provided us with today’s dose of nostalgia by releasing a wild and stunningly beautiful trailer for the highly anticipated remake to The Lion King.

The trailer not only gives us a first look at some major characters, but it also pokes at our underlying childhood trauma by showing that terrifying stampede scene.

It’s fine. Everything is fine.

The Disney trailer does a phenomenal job at recreating some of our favorite scenes from the original, hitting us hard in the feels and bringing on a whole new wave of nostalgia.

The trailer is set to the original film’s score while James Earl Jones speaks his Mufasa wisdom throughout, leaving us in even more anticipation for the upcoming film.

We’ve finally come full circle… of life.

Disney released a teaser trailer for the remake back in November that broke the record for Disney’s most-watched trailer in a day.

Within the first 24 hours the teaser accumulated an astounding 224.6 million views globally, not that any of us were really that shocked.

Could the official trailer break the teaser’s record? If it does, would any of us really be that surprised?

The new Lion King opens July 19, 2019, and we seriously can’t wait to see how this movie brings these beloved characters to life.

The reimagining of The Lion King follows the recent success of Disney’s live-action movies, including TarzanMaleficentCinderella, Beauty And The Beast and the upcoming Aladdin film.
