The Maine have already begun working on their next album
Since coronavirus caused this year’s Sad Summer Fest to be postponed, the Maine are finding other ways to stay productive. This week, the band announced its third 8123 Impact Day which is taking place on Saturday, June 20.
As well, the Maine have revealed that they are currently recording their next album.

Over the past few months, the Maine and their 8123 fanbase have helped raise money for various individuals and organizations. The band recently launched a shirt that benefitted their tour crew and employees who are facing financial problems during the pandemic.
As well, the Maine recently held a raffle and raised over $15,000 in support of the Black Lives Matter community. The proceeds were donated to Black Lives Matter, Campaign Zero, NAACP, The Advancement Project, The Bail Project and funds for Breonna Taylor and Dion Johnson.

Now, the Maine are giving back even more with the announcement of the third Impact Day. The Maine announced 2020’s 8123 Impact Day during their Worldwide Fan Conference on June 16.
According to a press release, 8123 Impact Day started in 2017. It was created in “effort to bring together the community of music fans to donate their passion, time and talents to make a positive difference locally and globally while bringing awareness and supporting social conscientiousness.”

This year’s 8123 Impact Day is taking place on Saturday, June 20. Normally, the band would bring fans together for a volunteer initiative during a tour stop in a specific city. However, due to the current pandemic, this year is different. Instead, the Maine are encouraging fans to use the day to find new ways to give back to the community and those in need.
Fans can visit the 8123 Impact website to discover ideas on how they can participate. As well, they can pledge their commitment and involvement. On social media, participants are encouraged to use the #8123Impact hashtag as a way to share their projects and see how other 8123 fans are giving back.
In other exciting news, the Maine also revealed details regarding their forthcoming album during their virtual fan conference. The band shared that they are currently in the studio working on their eighth album. The album, not yet titled, is set for release in 2021.

Back in May, vocalist John O’Callaghan shared that the band had already written ten songs for the album.

The Maine’s most recent album You Are OK was released back in 2019. O’Callaghan has also revived his solo project John The Ghost. He released a new single called “Rolled Down Window” in April.
