The Maine reveal their next era with new song "Numb Without You"

Days before the band’s second annual 8123 Fest, the Arizona pop-rockers of the Maine are unveiling their next era with a new song and album announcement. As revealed at midnight MST, You Are Ok, the group’s encouragingly-titled seventh album, is out March 29. Hear the cutting first single “Numb Without You” below, and pre-order the album here.

It’s a heartwarming catharsis for fans of the veteran scene act. Earlier this week, they teased some new material after the Maine vocalist John O’Callaghan launched a simple but exciting five-word tweet hinting at the follow-up to Lovely Little Lonely, the outfit’s 2017 full-length effort, of which its associated era was pronounced “dead” by the band.

This time around, the Maine have a more individualized approach in mind. “The next era is here and it was made just for YOU,” the group announce of You Are Ok on Twitter. Meanwhile, O’Callaghan takes to his Instagram account to offer a fleshed-out version of that dispatch, the singer leaving just enough gaps to have listeners yearning for more.

I want to tell you so many things about this album; about the struggle we had writing it, about the meaning of its title, and about the concept of it all, but all of that will come in due time. Right now I can only tell you how important this is for us…gravely. This is us in our most ambitious form to date. This is us at breakneck speed. This is us is a television show starring Mandy Moore. This is us, for the first time) fully realizing a vision we had from conception to finished product. All hype aside, this is us making music, putting everything into it, and holding our heads up higher than we ever have before. I want to tell you so many things about this album, but take 3 minutes of your time and tell me what YOU think of our new tune NUMB WITHOUT YOU in the comments below. And while we can’t wait to hear what the Maine sound like figuratively alongside This Is Us star (and fellow musician) Moore, check out the band’s upcoming tour dates for the rest of the year, directly below. And sound off down in the comments!
