Vans confirms ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ collab release date

Vans made all of our spooky dreams come true when they began teasing a The Nightmare Before Christmas collab. With photos surfacing a few days later, it was only a matter of time before a release date did too.

This week, the skate shoe brand confirmed a speculated Oct. 2019 release along with an official look at the shoes. In addition to the four previously surfaced photos, the post reveals several new looks including an Oogie Boogie slip-on and Sally-inspired patchwork.

“Step into a world of imagination with the new The Nightmare Before Christmas x Vans collection, arriving this weekend,” their Instagram post reads.

The collab joins a slew of other recently released highly-anticipated matchups. Last month, punk fashion designer Vivienne Westwood released a line of classy kicks. Over the summer, we got both a Harry Potter-inspired collab and a Shark Week collection benefitting ocean life. There was also a sweet Warped Tour collab inspired by the festival’s 25-year history.

While The Nightmare Before Christmas shoes aren’t live on the site just yet (even just to preorder), you can stay locked to vans.com/nightmare for when they finally do.

More on The Nightmare Before Christmas x Vans collection

Last month, we got to see exactly what four styles—SK8-Hi, Authentic, Old-Skool and Slip On—of The Nightmare Before Christmas Vans will look like.

Each shoe is totally transformed to include beloved characters such as Sally, Jack Skellington, the Zombie Band and more.

The Authentic style are black-and-white and are basically a collage of every character from the film mashed on one stylish shoe. The Slip-On style takes some inspiration from Jack Skellington’s outfit with the bow-tie bat placed front-and-center on the shoe.

The Sk8_Hi and Old-Skool styles are the ones filled with colors that just scream Halloween. The shoes will cost $70 each, according to HYPEBEAST. You can see what they look in more detail below.
