Southern California is about to get a whole lot of rock this October as the Surf City Blitz festival announced its inaugural lineup full of punk rock legends including the Offspring and Social Distortion.
Housed at Huntington State Beach, the two-day festival features the Offspring and Social Distortion headlining on Oct. 27 and 28 respectively. The two bands will be joined by Pennywise, Suicidal Tendencies, Rancid, Bad Religion, The Wrecks and more.
The festival will occur in conjunction with The Moto Beach Classic, which is launching a dirt track on the sand for the first time ever allowing for two days packed with racing. The event will feature Super Hooligan street bike flat track racing, drag and mini bike racing, art and custom motorcycles.
“This is an incredible lineup of bands over two days, and combined with Roland Sand’s Moto Beach Classic, this is going to be an awesome show,” Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness says. “To be a part of an event like this that’s never been done before is pretty cool.”
“Can’t wait to hang out on the beach with some of our SoCal punk friends and idols when we play Surf City Blitz,” the Offspring’s Dexter Holland echoes.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Junior Lifeguard Program and the Living the Dream Foundation, the latter of which works to give terminally ill music fans VIP access to their favorite artists.
General admission starts at $49.50 for one-day tickets and $89.50 for two-day tickets. VIP tickets start at $129.50 and various packages are available.
The festival grounds are located at 21601 Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, California, and tickets are on sale Friday, July 20 at 10 a.m. PST.
