The Prodigy frontman Keith Flint dies at 49
The Prodigy vocalist Keith Flint passed away at age 49. He was found in his home in Essex Monday, according to NME.
An Essex Police spokesperson told NME they were contacted to check on Flint Monday morning around 8 a.m. GMT.

“We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8:10 a.m. on Monday, March 4,” the spokesperson says. “We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.”
The Prodigy’s remaining members Liam Howlett and Maxim Reality issued a statement:
“It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.”
It was being reported that the cause of death is an apparent suicide, and Essex Police told NME, “The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The band later confirmed the cause of death on Instagram:
“The news is true , I can’t believe I’m saying this but our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend. I’m shell shocked , fuckin angry , confused and heart broken ….. r.i.p brother Liam #theprodigy”

Flint joined the Prodigy in 1990. The band released seven full-lengths with their most recent being No Tourists in 2018.
The trio were set to embark on a short string of U.S. dates this May including Welcome To Rockville in Jacksonville, Florida. The band announced the gigs in February, revealing it was their first headlining U.S. tour in 10 years. No further information regarding these shows is available at this time.
The band recently played two nights at London’s Alexandra Palace in November. You can view a video of their performance below.
