The Regrettes leave SWMRS tour, Lydia Night on vocal rest

The Regrettes recently wrapped an opening slot for twenty one pilots’ Bandito tour’s European leg. The act returned to the states to support SWMRS current spring tour, but they’re announcing they won’t be continuing due to frontwoman Lydia Night’s need for vocal rest.

The news comes shortly after the band was unable to perform in Albuquerque Saturday, which was the third date of the run. “We are heartbroken saying this, but Lydia has been put on vocal rest and can’t perform the show in Albuquerque tonight,” the band shared prior to that evening’s set. “We love you all and will absolutely be back this year.”

Check out the full statement regarding their decision to leave SWMRS’ tour below.

“Hey there. It pains us to say this, but we will not be continuing on tour with SWMRS. I have struggled in the past with my vocal health, and these past few days have been super rough. After going to the doctor, the decision was made that I need to go on vocal rest. Playing shows right now is really not what’s best for my health. We WILL be coming back for all of you this year, and I’m gonna take this time to properly recover and recharge, prep this new album for you all, and give you the greatest show we possibly can.

“We love you all so much and can’t even begin to express our gratitude for all of the love you’ve shown us. We wish SWMRS an incredible rest of tour. We are refunding tickets for our headline shows in DC and Dallas, however, we aren’t able to refund any others. If you bought tickets to see us on this tour, email [email protected] with proof of ticket purchase. We will make it up to you. -Lydia

As mentioned, the Regrettes won’t be on any of SWMRS’ remaining dates. They’ll also be refunding their headlining shows at Gas Monkey Bar & Grill in Dallas April 2 and at DC9 Nightclub in Washington, DC April 7.

SWMRS wished Night well and also announced Destroy Boys would be joining Beach Goons as support on the remaining dates.

“Feel better Lydia! Always fun to share a stage with you. miss you guys out here! We are super excited that our friends Destroy Boys are joining to help spread the gospel of Rock n Roll. #UncoolOnTour

The Regrettes recently released “Pumpkin” from their forthcoming sophomore full-length. The track follows their upcoming record’s first single, “California Friends,” in October. Last year, the band also shared a Queen cover, “Don’t Stop Me Now,” and their response to the Ford-Kavanaugh hearings, “Poor Boy.
