‘The Shining’ screening to take place at Overlook Hotel from film

The Shining fans will have a chance to watch the Stanley Kubrick film at the actual hotel featured in the film this winter. 

In Government Camp, Oregon, the iconic Overlook Hotel will be the set of a screening. It is put on by On Set Cinema.

The screening will take place on December 1st at the scenic spot. In addition, it was the actual filming location for the film. The real name of the hotel is the National Historic Timberline Lodge. 

“This is an extremely rare public screening of the movie at Timberline and seating is limited. Fans will have access to the hotel grounds for the day, as well as the interior of the lodge (the Cascade dining room, Ram’s Head Bar & Restaurant, Wy’East Café, Y’Bar, history exhibit, gift shop, game room & more),” a statement reads. “On Set Cinema highly recommend staying overnight – tickets holders will be emailed a discount code for Sunday night lodging. Timberline also offers world class skiing and is the only ski resort in North America open all 12 months of the year.”

The event takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and costs $70 a person.You can find out more information and grab tickets here

Ghost have been intricately developing their various characters through a series of webisodes, and one posted last month paid homage to horror classic The Shining.

The video, titled “Chapter Seven: New World Redro,” starts its references to the film right when you click, captioning the post with a clever reference.

The caption reads “[MESSAGE FROM THE CLERGY] We wish to inform you all work and no play makes Papa…” which is as obvious a reference as you could make.

During the video, Cardinal Copia can be seen riding a tricycle through hallways just like the main character’s child. Papa Nihil can also be seen using a typewriter while speaking to himself.

Eventually, Cardinal Copia turns a corner to find a pair of spooky twins at the end of the hallway. You can check out the full video in the player below.
