‘The Suicide Squad’ kick off shooting with first behind-the-scenes cast pic

The Suicide Squad recently dropped the names of its cast, and now director James Gunn has revealed that the team has officially started filming.

Last week, the director unveiled the full cast for the sequel via Twitter and fans are beyond stoked about the actors joining.

The director made the announcement with a photo displaying all of the actors’ names along with the caption “don’t get too attached #TheSuicideSquad.”

Among the 24 names listed are some pretty notable names including Pete Davidson, John Cena, Storm Reid, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and more.

Will Smith, of course, does not appear in the list as he decided not to participate in the new movie. The decision to remove his character Deadshot altogether was made to give Smith the opportunity to come back in a possible sequel, according to Variety.

Jared Leto also doesn’t appear in the list though it’s unclear whether Joker will be appearing in the movie.

Now, Gunn has revealed via a behind-the-scenes photo of the cast on Instagram that they’ve started shooting.

He first posted the photo of him hanging with the cast. Then, he began answering fan questions in the comments. On Monday, one fan asked when the film will start shooting. The director responded that they started “today” which means its already underway.
