Then, just a few days later, McCracken again echoed the idea of a My Chemical Romance tour in an interview with Razor 94.7/104.7

“When we first met My Chemical Romance, they were my favorite band,” McCracken said. “I brought them out all over the world. There’s a reason why they blew up and they’re one of the biggest bands of all time. They’re amazing. Been talking to Gerard and it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see The Used on that tour,” McCracken says before jokingly chiming in with, “I’m not saying… I’m joking. Come on, you know me, I’m a kidder.”

The rumor grew even stronger when the Used canceled their European tour dates and their set at Slam Dunk Festival citing the reasoning as “an opportunity” that they “could absolutely not turn down.”

Well, the Used have yet to announce that big news update, most likely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a recent interview with McCracken on The Green Room with Neil Griffiths podcast, McCracken was asked about the My Chemical Romance tour rumor. He joked that they canceled because they knew there was a pandemic that would cancel everything.

“We knew like a month in advance there was going to be a worldwide pandemic,” McCracken says. “We just didn’t want to announce it like it was some good news. It was like ‘we have a secret that we can’t tell you.’ Everybody’s gonna be locked in there house for the next six months.” McCracken goes on to say that they do have some really good news going on pretty soon.

He further discusses the idea of the My Chemical Romance tour saying he would love to be on it.

Obviously, the second you see someone announce a reunion tour, you’re like, ‘Get me on that mother*!’ I’ve been texting Gerard [Way] like crazy,” McCracken says before laughing. “But I’ve also just been announcing that we are on it, just because, yeah, we should be.”

As we’ve already said, that tour would be absolutely incredible.
