The 1975 postpone upcoming tour

Originally planned for the end of this year, the 1975 have postponed their upcoming South American tour to spring 2017.

Dirty Hit Records, one of the 1975's labels, tweeted that the change was “due to scheduling issues.”

The band's Twitter and Facebook account stated that the shows were rescheduled—without further explanation. Frontman Matty Healy retweeted Dirty Hit's tweet while drummer George Daniel, guitarist Adam Hann and manager Jamie Oborne have made no comment on Twitter at the time this article was posted.

Fans, expectedly, are commenting on Facebook demanding explanation and expressing their concern with the announcement. From the comments, it appears many have purchased plane tickets and hotel rooms for the shows.

Songkick is still displaying the previous dates for the South American shows, which seem to have been scheduled for end of September. Instead, the shows will now be held in late March and early April 2017.

Even with the postponement, the 1975 have a busy touring cycle ahead of them. The band are gearing up for a show in the Philippines before they head to Japan for Summer Sonic. Afterwards, the 1975 will hit the UK, Europe and then North/Central America. They'll end 2016 in the UK for a headlining tour, which includes two nights at the famed O2 Arena (they sold the first night out in hours).

Songkick named the 1975 “the hardest working band of 2014” after they played more gigs than anyone else since 2010.
