The Academy Is… are back. Should they make another record?

So it looks like the Academy Is… are back. The band have reunited for a performance at Chicago’s Riot Fest, a gig they’re calling both a “reunion” and “Farwell” show. Well, I certainly hope the latter isn’t true. The last time I saw the band was in 2005—they were headlining over Panic! At The Disco, Acceptance and Hellogoodbye. (Yeah, I know, fucking insane, right?)

They played an electric version of “The Fever,” and it was incredible. “Lies are lies in everybody’s eyes and I don’t believe you!” William Beckett screamed. I waited a year for them to release a studio, non-acoustic version of that song, and they never did.

At the time, the band were absolutely on fire, one of the prized Fueled By Ramen warriors and one of the biggest acts in the scene. But things changed, they lost steam and singer William Beckett went solo.

At this point in their career, could the band release another successful record? I'm not sure. Should they try? Hell yes. Go see the Academy Is… at Riot Fest, and let 'em know with your screams.

Happy 10 years, Almost Here.

RIOT FEST CHICAGO !!!Hello old friends,We are pleased to announce that we will be reuniting the band for a our first…
