Dropped in 1998, Under The Running Board features three original tracks: “Abe The Cop,” “Sandbox Magician” and “The Mullet Burden.” On the back, the vinyl shows off an etching of the band’s classic radio-tube logo.

“I'll never forget the first time we started jamming on what would become the first song off that EP,” guitarist/band founder Ben Weinman tells AltPress. “The song many consider paved the way for the Dillinger sound. ‘The Mullet Burden’ was our version of what we thought was heavier and more jarring than anything we had heard previously. That was really our goal: to make all other noisy, heavy bands look like elevator music. I'm still really proud of the music we produced back then and it's exciting for some of our newer fans to be able to get this thing in their hands.”

With the Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, Weinman’s side project featuring members of Mastodon, the Mars Volta, Zappa Plays Zappa and Alice In Chains, releasing their debut album this summer, the Dillinger Escape Plan will soon reconvene to record a follow-up to 2013’s One Of Us Is The Killer.
