Tkaczyk previously announced his new djent/metal project, One Decade, via Instagram at the beginning of the month. One Decade's debut EP, Coma Visions, is now here.
This is Tkaczyk's first release since TGI's 2014 record, Dear Youth, and the band's horrendous bus crash in November 2015. Tkaczyk himself was left in a coma, and after a leg amputation and recovery, returned to his drum kit back in March 2016. He even posted a video of himself learning to drum again with his prosthetic leg.
“I’m honestly so excited to have this out and for people the be able to hear it,” Tkaczyk says via Instagram. “First of all I just want to make it very clear, that this does not mean that I am giving up on TGI. That couldn’t be further from the truth. This is just something I have done to keep myself busy in all this downtime since 11/19/15. Thanks to my guys for having my back and supporting me with this release.”
“I hope people continue to listen to this and enjoy it. It has helped me through the unimaginable, and even though there’s no lyrical content, I feel that the music is strong and passionate. Use it as your outlet to focus in dark times. As long as you like it, I will keep making more 1D records in the future. Seriously thanks for listening everyone. Love you all ❤️.”
