The group's crash on Nov. 19, 2015 claimed the lives of two drivers. While the band’s members were left in stable condition, they all have faced extensive recovery processes.
A GoFundMe was set up to benefit the Ghost Inside bus driver's family along with a separate page for the band's extensive recovery.
Tkaczyk himself was left in a coma, and after a leg amputation and recovery, found himself return to his drum kit back in March.
The scene rallied behind the group, who ended up receiving the Most Dedicated Fanbase Skully at this year's APMAs. The group thanked their fans for helping them make it through their toughest months during their emotional and inspiring acceptance speech.
“This award is not really about us, we want to accept this award on behalf of those who have reached out to us, both directly and indirectly,” shared frontman Jonathan Vigil. “Your support has made it much easier for us to fight back and get back on stage…it’s because of you. You are the inspiration.”
