The Neighbourhood announce new album, stream "R.I.P. 2 My Youth"

Southern California indie rock band the Neighbourhood are back following their highly successful 2013 debut, I Love You. While announcing the follow-up, titled Wiped Out!, the band has stuck with their black and white motif which can be found in the current visuals for the new album's lead single, “R.I.P. 2 My Youth.” The track originally premiered on KROQ's The Kevin & Bean Show and can now be streamed below. Moody, hypnotic and addictive, the Neighbourhood's newest output should have fans' anticipation for Wiped Out! at an all-time high.

On the idea behind their newest single, vocalist Jesse Rutherford explains, “To be honest I think the lyrics kind of describe it the best. I think just hearing it is probably the best way to explain it. I feel like it could really go for all of us as far as what has happened in our life in the past couple years and the awesome opportunities we’ve been able to have. I think kind of reflecting back on it—growing up per se, whether you want to or not. Sometimes your youth—some people have it taken away from them earlier and some people get to wait a little longer before you have to grow up, but either way the world kind of hits you.”

Wiped Out! is set to release on October 30 through Columbia records. You can pre-order the album through iTunes now where you'll receive an instant download of “R.I.P. 2 My Youth.” You can also find the album's artwork below along with the Neighbourhood's upcoming fall tour schedule with Bad Suns and Hunny.
