There’s another way Senses Fail’s new album is just like ‘Still Searching’
It’s been a while since we last heard new material from Senses Fail. However, it looks like the wait is almost over.
This year, Senses Fail have been hard at work on their follow up to 2018’s If There Is Light, It Will Find You. During this time, they have been sharing some exclusive details about the upcoming release with fans. Now, Senses Fail have revealed another way their next LP is similar to 2006’s Still Searching.

Back in January, we learned that Senses Fail had entered the studio to work on their eighth studio album. At the time, Buddy Nielsen said that he thinks the album’s title will be Hell Is In Your Head. However, in March, they ended up revealing the record’s full title would be What The Thunder Said, Hell Is In Your Head.
Senses Fail also previously explained why they want to put Still Searching to bed with this new release.

For Senses Fail, it’s time to shut the book on the character in Still Searching with this new album. As we all know, Still Searching is a concept album about a character struggling with heartbreak, depression and faith. “The Priest and the Matador” is about the character’s rejection of faith as they lay on the pavement dying. In the end, the character eventually decides to take their own life.

Now, it looks like Senses Fail’s new album and Still Searching have another thing in common. This week, Senses Fail confirmed that this new batch of songs is as heavy as the 2006 album.

As well, Senses Fail still stand by their statement that this LP is better than Still Searching. 2006’s Still Searching is the band’s highest-charting album to date, peaking at No. 15 on Billboard’s Top 200.

Senses Fail are working on this new album with Saosin‘s Beau Burchell again and previously shared that this is the most amount of time they’ve spent on a record. Senses Fail were originally hoping to have the album out much sooner. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, those plans quickly changed.
With their newfound time off, Senses Fail have managed to write enough material for not one, but two new albums.

On top of writing two new albums, Senses Fail are also recording various covers. They’ve already finished recording “We’re Only Gonna Die” by Bad Religion and mentioned that they are covering a Morrissey song while they could potentially be covering Jawbreaker and the Get Up Kids.
Back in October, fans got a taste of Senses Fail’s new covers when they teamed up with Saves The Day for a Misfits split. The Through Being Ghoul split includes Senses Fail takes on “We Are 138” and “Attitude.” Meanwhile, Saves The Day infused their own influences and sound into their covers of “Some Kinda Hate” and “Where Eagles Dare.”
Then, following their Twitter beef with Trapt, Senses Fail unveiled two more new covers of “I Wish It Was Christmas Today” and “Donde Esta Santa Clause” just in time for Christmas.
