Stephan Jenkins exclusively told Alternative Press about his initial thoughts upon seeing the music video, directed by Poliça/Marijuana Deathsquads member and producer Ryan Olson.

“I had no idea what Ryan Olson was up to until I saw the video for the first time,” Jenkins says. “To which I exclaimed, ‘This is the best Third Eye Blind video ever!’ And I am saying that when, as often as not, I direct my own videos.”

Jenkins goes on to further compliment Olson’s work on the video and how the music video perfectly captures the transformative period during quarantine.

Ryan is a stoner genius, and I say this knowing that he is not actually a stoner at all,” Jenkins says. “To me having my face melded and morphed with the incredibly talented Velvet Negroni evoked how being stuck in lockdown changes us into someone else.”

Our Bande Apart will be Third Eye Blind’s seventh album and features artists such as Negroni, Cosentino, Olson, as well as Jeff Schroeder of Smashing Pumpkins.
