Third Eye Blind, who played a charity show at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland last night, took the opportunity to troll their audience, which was largely filled with guests of the Republican National Convention.

The ’90s alt-rock legends were playing a charity event hosted by the Recording Industry Association of America and AT&T that, according to Cleveland.com, was expected to feature Third Eye Blind covering several pro-America anthems for the RNC friendly audience in attendance.

Instead, frontman Stephan Jenkins skipped playing the band’s most popular songs, spoke out against conservative viewpoints and reveled in boos from the crowd.

They did play one hit, however; it was not to please the audience.

Below is a clip of the band playing “Jumper,” which they specifically played to repudiate the RNC’s homophobic agenda, Billboard reports.

“To love this song is to take into your heart the message, and to actually—actually—have a feeling to arrive and move forward, and not live your life in fear, and imposing that fear on other people,” he said, before playing the song. At another point, he asked the audience to, “Raise your hand if you believe in science?” to which the crowd reacted with boos.

They also played  “Non-Dairy Creamer,” which includes the repeated chant “young gay Republicans.”

Four years ago, Third Eye Blind singer Stephan Jenkins wrote a piece for Huffington Post with the headline, “Why We Aren’t Playing at the RNC.” In the commentary, he wrote about how they couldn’t accept an invitation to perform at a private party during the 2012 Republican convention because “they are, in fact, a party dedicated to exclusion.”

Monday night Jenkins joined the Maine and Mayday Parade on stage at the 2016 Alternative Press Music Awards.
