This guy recorded a full reimagined version of Brand New's 'The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me'

A man operating under the moniker Simple Mind recently took on the daunting task of not only covering Brand New's The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me, but reimagining it as well. While the entire effort isn't due out until early March, you can stream “Limousine,” “Not The Sun” and “Sowing Season” below.

In an interview with On Record Magazine, the man behind Simple Mind commented on the inspiration behind the project, saying, “In December of 2013, I caught Brand New for one of their discography shows, as well as their Bell House show in Brooklyn. That show went down in their fanbase's eyes as one of the best Brand New shows of all time. It was an incredible experience for me as well and I realized that this band was pretty much in my musical DNA,” he admitted. “I wanted to delve into their songs and put myself into them, because I felt like they were all a part of me. I also just love the Brand New community and this project is very obviously catered to them.
