This incredible artist can paint songs using colors she sees in her head due to a neurological quirk
Human beings are remarkable in so many different ways. Melissa McCracken, for instance, is a synesthetic artist, and you've got to see her beautiful creations.
“Synesthesia is a neurological condition where your brain is basically cross-wired, so certain stimuli will come in and it'll create the wrong response in my brain,” McCracken explains. ” So for me, that's listening to music and it's translated into color in my head.”
That's right, she actually sees music as a multitude of colors inside her head. And as an artist, McCracken has embraced the phenomenal disorder by creating wonderful art to different kinds of music.

“I started painting music because I would try to explain synesthesia so many times,” she says. “It never made as much sense to describe it verbally, so I thought it would be best to just put it on canvas just because I've always been an artist, and it made it much easier for people to be able to understand it.”
McCracken has painted along with Radiohead, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and in the particular video below, she composes to Stevie Wonder's iconic “Superstition.”
She also goes on to explain that even songs she doesn't like can look pretty, giving her a unique appreciation for genres like pop music in a different way.
