This musician has created the most calming song for dogs

It’s been proven that dogs prefer certain genres over others. (Reggae over pop punk? Yep.) But one musician set out to write calming music specific for dogs, and the results are actually amazing. (via Digital Music News)

gnash, and his stressed dog Daisy, worked with an animal behaviorist to compose music to help make his canine feel better—and it looks like his “Song For Daisy” did the trick!

Through his research, he found that certain elements, including simpler arrangements and repetitions, helped soothe dogs, which is what he combined to make his one-of-a-kind dog soothing song. What’s even cooler is that gnash’s “Song For Daisy” has actually been used by No-Kill Los Angeles, which is where he actually adopted his own dog, according to Digital Music News.

And here’s the actual, dog-calming song:

Earlier this year, a study done by the University of Glasgow and the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals found that dogs preferred reggae and soft rock.

“We were keen to explore the effect playing different genres of music had, and it was clear that the physiological and behavioral changes observed were maintained during the trial when the dogs were exposed to a variety of music,” said PhD student Amy Bowman.

The dogs listened to soft rock, Motown, pop, reggae, and classical, but it was shown that the dogs preferred soft rock and reggae.
