Tinder swipes right on music festival-friendly matching

It looks like both music and love could be in the air this summer as Tinder announces the launch of a new feature called “Festival Mode,” which is designed to help single festival goers connect. It will act similarly to the previously announced “Spring Break Mode” where users will be able to display badges on their profiles to indicate an upcoming festival they’re attending.

Tinder has teamed up with AEG Worldwide and Live Nation to make the feature available for large festivals in the U.S., U.K. and Australia.

Users will be able to display easily viewable festival badges on their profiles, allowing you to see those who may be attending the same festivals.

Currently, the feature includes EDC Las Vegas, Hangout Music Fest, All Points East, Governors Ball, Parklife, Bonnaroo, Firefly, British Summer Time, Lovebox, Faster Horses, Hard Summer and EDC Orlando.

“It’s no secret that Tinder is a must-have app for singles attending music festivals around the world. We consistently see a spike in Tinder use as tens of thousands of music fans come together, so we wanted to create a new experience that makes it easier to connect with other concert-goers before even setting foot on festival grounds,” Jenny Campbell, CMO of Tinder, says about the launch. “We’ve partnered with some of the biggest names in the entertainment and events industry to make that happen, and we couldn’t be more excited to help Tinder users find their crowd during these events for the rest of 2019.”

Badges are available to add to user profiles 3 weeks before each festival.

The news of the new feature comes shortly after Facebook revealed their new, slightly creepy, “Secret Crush” feature as part of Facebook Dating.
