You could have been singing these Box Car Racer lyrics much differently

It has been nearly 20 years since Box Car Racer dropped some new tunes, but that hasn’t stopped Tom DeLonge from reminding fans of their existence. He’s already shared a throwback picture of the album cover and said new Angels & Airwaves sounded a bit like them.

Now, DeLonge is tugging at our heartstrings even more by posting a photo of what appears to be the original lyric sheet from one of Box Car Racer’s most well-known songs —”I Feel So.”

In late-March, Tom DeLonge posted a simple photo of Box Car Racer art with the rock hand. Fans immediately were in a flurry, thinking it meant there would be some sort of news regarding the project. Fellow musician Anthony Green (Saosin, Circa Survive) even threw his name into the hat saying “I’m in.”

Alas, nothing new has been posted regarding Box Car Racer since that day, until now.

Maybe Tom DeLonge is just going through old stuff and getting sentimental while in quarantine, or maybe he’s teasing something.

On April 23, DeLonge took to Instagram to share the handwritten lyrics to “I Feel So” by Box Car Racer. As many fans know, “I Feel So” is the first track off their only record and immediately hooked us on the DeLonge and Travis Barker project.

DeLonge shared the photo with the simple caption “A little Box Car Racer history…” As you can see, the lyrics used to be a bit different.

Listen to the iconic track below.

Back in 2017, DeLonge teased on Twitter asking fans who should guest on a new Box Car Racer album “if there was one.” Green jokingly responded that time too, agreeing with a fan who jumped straight to him as a guest.

More Tom DeLonge

Just last week, we got a brand-new Angels & Airwaves song. The new track is titled “All That’s Left Is Love.”

Tom DeLonge said that all of the proceeds of the track would go directly to Feeding America

Angels & Airwaves have been relatively silent since 2019. But, that was a busy year for Tom DeLonge and crew. They dropped two new singles being “Kiss & Tell” and “Rebel Girl.” Then, they briefly teased a new song called “TIME BOMB” on New Year’s Eve while showing some footage from an upcoming documentary. They also completed a massive U.S. tour

Now, Angels & Airwaves are back to being angels, by donating proceeds from “All That’s Left Is Love” to Feeding America.

Feeding America responds to the needs of individuals struggling with food insecurity in the United States and aims to end the fight against hunger.

The last AVA record was 2014’s The Dream Walker and with three new songs under their belt, and a potential fourth with “TIME BOMB,” hopefully there’s news of a new record soon.

Until then, check out Angels & Airwaves’ newest song, “All That’s Left Is Love.”
