The film is based on DeLonge’s Strange Time franchise about a group of rebellious San Diego skateboarders who take it upon themselves to investigate their town’s paranormal activity.

Jack Samson (Zodiac) has signed on to play the part of Charlie Wilkens and Lizze Broadway (Bones, Chicago PD) will take the role of Alli.

DeLonge, who will also be the film’s director, said that those actors fit the roles perfectly.

“There were more than 3000 casting submissions for the film, but Jack and Lizze immediately stood out,” says DeLonge. “They’re incredibly talented actors who each bring a unique energy and perspective to the film. We were blown away watching them bring Charlie and Alli to life.”

DeLonge will direct the film, his band Angels & Airwaves will score the film with original music and his multi-media company, To The Stars, will produce it.

Upon the film’s announcement, DeLonge told The Hollywood Reporter: “I grew up in Southern California as a disaffected young skateboarder who broke the occasional law or five, and I was always dreaming about the world around me, obsessively looking for the more unusual and imaginative experiences that life has to offer.”
