Tom Waits, Alice Cooper among inductees for Rock Hall's Class of 2011

The Cleveland Plain Dealer has announced the inductees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's Class of 2011. It includes Tom Waits, Alice Cooper, Dr. John, Neil Diamond and Darlene Love. This was the first time any of the inductees (minus Love) had been nominated. Their induction ceremony will take place March 14, 2011, at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan and will be broadcast on Fuse.

These inductees were voted on by 500 rock experts via mailed ballots. Other artists nominated for the Class of 2011 but passed over include Beastie Boys, Bon Jovi, LL Cool J and Donna Summer.

Musicians become eligible for the Rock Hall 25 years after the release of their first record; for example, Green Day will become eligible in 2015, Blink-182 will become eligible in 2019 and Brokencyde will become eligible in 2033.
