Skateboarder Tony Hawk took to Twitter today to open up about the Space Jam sequel that he almost starred in alongside the band of Looney Tunes.

The movie was set to be called Skate Jam, and was going to be released via Warner Bros. back in 2003.

“In 2003, I was requested to meet with Warner Brothers about doing a film tentatively titled ‘Skate Jam’,” Hawk revealed in his Twitter post. “They were bringing back Looney Tunes with ‘Back In Action’ & then wanted to start on my project immediately. A week later ‘Back In Action’ bombed & ‘Skate Jam’ was shelved forever.”

Hawk revealed this bit of information once before in his book How Did I Get Here? The Ascent Of An Unlikely CEO,where he shared that everyone had been very excited for the project.

Of course, Looney Tunes: Back In Action ended up bombing in the box office back in 2003, which put a halt on any Tunes-based films for a long time.

Fans still couldn’t help but wonder what life would have been like had this sequel actually happened, with some hoping to still make it a reality.
