“Our obsession with, and dream of, a world where betamax and laser disc rule has ended,” says vocalist Maynard James Keenan. “Time for us to move on. But never fear. There’s a brand new thing we think you’re really gonna dig. It’s called digital downloads and streaming. Get ready for the future, folks!”

Ænima currently holds the number two spot on the iTunes Top Albums charts, sitting just behind Drake’s Care PackageLateralus is also at number four, 10,000 Days is right behind it at number five, and Undertow is next at number six. As for Opiate, the debut Tool EP is currently number eight.

As far as iTunes’ Top Songs, “Sober” made its way to being the number two song in the world, just behind Ariana Grande’s “Boyfriend.”

“Sober” is even taking over Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” which became the longest-running number one single of all time through various remixes.

“Schism,” “Forty Six & 2” and “Stinkfist” have all made their way into the Top 10, coming in at sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively.

The digital debut comes ahead of the band’s release of their fifth album, Fear Inoculum, out Aug. 30 via RCA Records.
