Tool defeat twenty one pilots’ rock chart record with ‘Fear Inoculum’
Fans are obviously loving the new album.September 16, 2019
The band’s No. 1 album dropped a little over two weeks ago, and has been a smash hit ever since.
Now, the band have achieved a new major accomplishment to celebrate — all 10 tracks from the record are featured on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart, with six of them being in the top 10.
Having six tracks in the top 10 makes the band have the record for the most songs from one artist on the chart at a time simultaneously. Who previously held that record, you ask? None other than one of our favorite duos twenty one pilots.
Last year, TOP set the record with their album Trench, which had five songs featured in the top 10. It was the first time in history a band claimed half the top 10 at one time. Those tracks were “Jumpsuit” at No. 6, “My Blood” at No. 7, “Nico and the Niners” at No. 8, “Morph” at No. 9 and “Chlorine” taking the 10th spot. The band did so the week that Trench made its debut.
Now, Tool hold the record. The highest-charting track from their album is the self-titled song at No. 3, which is also the only one from the album to hit the Hot 100 chart. Then, we have “Pneuma” at No. 4, “Invincible” at No. 5, “7empest” at No. 6, “Descending” at No. 7 and “litanie Contre La Peur” at No. 10.
Fear Inoculum is Tool’s first record in 13 years, so it’s obvious by the charts that fans are enjoying getting to finally jam out to new songs from the band after all this time. You can celebrate the major accomplishment by streaming the record below.
