Travis Barker details origin of Machine Gun Kelly’s pop-punk album title
Yesterday Machine Gun Kelly confirmed the name of his upcoming Travis Barker-produced pop-punk album and now Barker is revealing why they chose it.
Opting to call the album Tickets To My Downfall, Barker explains where the name of the album came from in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

Prior to the name reveal, MGK has been posting studio clips over the past few weeks. Featuring Barker, Escape The Fate guitarist Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft and more, each post teased “the untitled pop-punk album.”
Then Kelly and Barker appeared on Zane Lowe’s show and casually dropped the name of the album.

Now, a longer clip is being shared showing the explanation behind the choice of title.
“I left you hanging last time we talked because you had asked me what the project that Travis [Barker] and I are working on was called,” says Machine Gun Kelly before saying the name of the album.
When Lowe asked where Tickets To My Downfall comes from, Barker responds by saying “He actually had brought up that name one time. We were working on a song and I was like, to me that sounds like when you know you play a show or whatever, everyone comes by and is like ‘what up Kells, what up Travis’ or whatever and they’re there for all of the bright lights and amazing shows and green rooms and backstage parties and stuff but they may not know what you are going through on a day to day basis.”
“I know there was a point in my life where it was like that and I think it was relatable,” Barker continues.
