Trent Reznor approves of Miley Cyrus’ second ‘Black Mirror’ NIN cover

The internet is all over Miley Cyrus giving Nine Inch Nails track “Head Like A Hole” a pop twist, but now Trent Reznor has given his approval.

Netflix is sharing another reworked track from Black Mirror, “Right Where It Belongs,” which sees Cyrus’ take on NIN’s song of the same name from With Teeth.

The third Black Mirror episode, “Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too,” has the singer/actress in the role of a pop star. Instead of focusing on Cyrus’ own music though, they opted to recreate classic Nine Inch Nails tracks.

The first song, “On A Roll,” even got its own music video. In case you missed that, check it out in the player below.

The second song from the episode dropped today. If you haven’t seen the episode yet and want to hear it for yourself, check it out in the player below.

Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker says Reznor has given his blessing to recreate his band’s songs for the series.

“Trent got it straight away,” Brooker said at a press conference. “It was via email and he was really happy pretty quickly. He wanted to see the script and I got to re-write his lyrics in a chirpy way.

“I’m not the best lyricist in the world,” he continued. “In the first song she’s singing: ‘I’m stoked on ambition and verve’ instead of ‘You’re gonna get what you deserve’.”

Reznor is proving to naysayers that he’s fully on board with everything, promoting a Nine Inch Nails shirt inspired from the show.
