Trophy Eyes/ Seth Rollins

Trophy Eyes team up with WWE’s Seth Rollins for “Figure Eight” video

Australian punk rockers Trophy Eyes and WWE‘s prodigal son Seth Rollins combine for what might be the oddest Tag Team in history. Well, at least on the surface. Monday Night Rollins has been championing anything punk, metal, emo, and hardcore since before his NXT debut. In fact, his love of the genres started his WWE career fans chanting “Seth can’t mosh” when he entered the ring.

Trophy Eyes are signed to Hopeless Records and dropped their song “Figure Eight” last week. The music video or “lyric visual” as they’re calling it features Seth Rollins lip-syncing to the song as he prepares for a match. Check it out below.

The video appears to be shot last year as we see Rollins with the Universal Championship belt. He arrives at the venue, puts his earphones in and Trophy Eyes “Figure Eight” is what he’s jamming to. From there, we see Rollins just go through his routine and lip-sync the melodic pop-rock anthem.

Speaking on the song, lead singer, John Floreani talks about the meaning behind it.

“Figure Eight is about time lost. It is the sound of a broken heart, the deafening silence of a couple once in love, and a fleeting dream told from two perspectives – one is of failure and the other of resentment.” Floreani says.

“The song is about a man who had given himself entirely, still desperately grasping at straws of success and a woman left to pick up the pieces of the reality.”

Listen to “Figure Eight” by Trophy Eyes and watch the “Monday Night Messiah” prepare to rock the house below.

Trophy Eyes “Figure Eight” Lyrics

There’s a place here,
I can feel it,
Even If you can’t see right now.
You gotta breathe deep,
And believe it,
I know I can fly I just don’t know how.
Can you feel it inside?
Anything can change in the light.
They’re singing just for you tonight,
‘Cause baby you’re the star in my eyes.
Say it like you mean it,
Do you trust me now?
Call it like you see it,
Are we burning out?
I wish you could feel it like I do.
Everything I’ve done, I do it all for you.
Say it like you mean it,
Do you trust me now?

You’re my figure eight,
Yeah- my best friend.
Can’t we spend the night like we used to outside your head.
And it’s moving to the beat now,
But it cost you everything you had inside this empty house.
I loved you once before but that was then,
Now you’re like a stranger in my bed.
We know that our love is at an end,
But you act like you don’t see and I pretend.
Say it like you mean it,
Do you trust me now?
Call it like you see it,
Are we burning out?
I wish you could feel it like I do.
Everything I’ve done, I do it all for you.
Say it like you mean it,
Do you trust me now?

Say it…
Say it like you mean it,
Do you trust me now?
Call it like you see it,
Are we burning out?
I wish you could feel it like I do.
Everything I’ve done, I do it all for you.
Say it like you mean it,
Do you trust me now?
