Troye Sivan drops cover of Queen classic, "Somebody To Love"

Much like 5 Seconds Of Summer, Troye Sivan has honored Queen‘s frontman Freddie Mercury by doing a cover of Queen’s classic song, “Somebody To Love.”

The cover comes the day of the theatrical release of the Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody.

Earlier today, Sivan shared his cover of Queen’s 1976 hit, “Somebody To Love,” which is from the group’s album A Day At The Races.

In a statement, Sivan expressed his joy of having the opportunity to cover the song, saying “I’m beyond honoured to have been asked to cover ‘Somebody to Love’ by Queen, a masterful song by the most legendary band.”

The song was recorded as the third instalment in a series of three covers that is set to support the Mercury Phoenix Trust (MPT), which was created in order to support the global fight against HIV and AIDS.

Sivan’s cover of “Somebody To Love” follows the already released 5 Seconds of Summer cover of “Killer Queen” and Shawn Mendes’ cover of “Under Pressure,” which features Teddy Geiger.
