twenty one pilots reveal the Bandito tour support for second US leg

twenty one pilots are wrapping up their European dates with the Regrettes this month. Many are wondering who will be joining them as support this summer for the second U.S. leg of the Bandito tour, and now that information is being shared.

Brooklyn, New York’s finest psych-pop band Bear Hands will be spending their spring on tour with British rockers Foals prior to opening up 31 dates on twenty one pilots’ arena trek through May and June. The band—Dylan Rau, Val Loper and TJ Orscher—will head west to Vancouver next week for eight shows before jumping onto the duo’s next leg.

Bear Hands’ fourth album, Fake Tunes, will be released May 10 on the band’s Spensive Sounds label. The record, produced by Christopher Chu (POP ETC), will include the previously issued singles “Back Seat Driver (Spirit Guide)” and “Blue Lips.” It runs the gamut of everything from late-night cosmopolitan grooves (“Blame,” “Reptilians”) to mutant strains of melodic post-punk (“Mr. Radioactive”), all heightened by frontman Rau’s idiosyncratic eloquence.

As an extra treat, “Blue Lips” performer/co-writer Ursula Rose returns to bring backing vocals (and the ice) on the electro-funk closer “Confessions.” You need a win in your life sometime this year, so treat yourself and get to the Foals and TOP gigs early.
