Flashback to 2017, you’re laughing at the Babadook being a pride icon while listening to Taylor Swift debut her new era with Reputation. twenty one pilots rocked the Grammy Awards by accepting their award in their underwear. during the acceptance, the duo talked about the idea came to be.

“This story starts in Columbus, Ohio. It was a few years ago. And it was before Josh and I were able to make money playing music,” Joseph begins. He goes on to tell how he invited Dun to watch the Grammys with him and some friends.

“As we were watching we noticed that every single one of us was in our underwear,” Joseph recalls. “And seriously—and we were no one at that time—he turned to me and said, ‘You know, if we ever go to the Grammys — if we ever win a Grammy — we should receive it just like this.’

“Not only is this amazing, but I want everyone who’s watching at home to know that you could be next. Because anyone, from anywhere, can do anything.”

“If Shawn and I win the Grammy, we will walk onstage in our underwear like twenty one pilots did. That’s a promise,” she laughs. “Just kidding. It’s not. I gotta work out before I do that.”

We guess we’ll see what happens at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards which air Jan. 26. The awards show will feature performances by Billie Eilish, Gwen Stefani, Lizzo and Aerosmith. Ozzy Osbourne will also appear as a presenter.
