Voice behind twenty one pilots’ “Chlorine” intro revealed

Have you listened to twenty one pilots’ “Chlorine” and wondered who was offering up the mysterious introduction? Well, it looks like you’re not alone.

Recently, Paul Meany of Mutemath revealed on his story that he is the  voice at the beginning of “Chlorine,” as shared by user iiDev.

Mutemath supported twenty one pilots on the Emotional Roadshow world tour’s summer 2016 leg. , Meany was then included in Trench’s production following the tour’s conclusion.

Meany continued to spill details on his role with the album on Instagram live, using some choice analogies to explain the creative process that went into the album.

Using football to describe his position during production, Meany says he filled multiple positions that were needed.

“I felt like my role was anything from being a cheerleader, to getting to participate in the coaching staff and then when need be I could put on a helmet and go run a few plays,” Meany says.

He went on to describe frontman Tyler Joseph as the quarterback and Dun as the star wide receiver before getting back into the nuts and bolts of how he got to be involved Trench.

“The first song we worked on was ‘Jumpsuit,’ and then what turned into three songs, then four, then five,” Meany says. “Tyler finally called me in the spring of last year and was like, ‘Man, let’s just do all 14 like this.’ I was elated. I was so excited.”

He closed out the clip by attributing the different reactions the album causes to Joseph, Dun and himself, explaining what feelings come from which artist.  

“If you find yourself saying ‘wow,’ that feeling of elation, that’s Tyler,” Meany says.
