This isn’t the first time Dr. Blum has joined the band as MisterWives opened 2014’s the Quiet Is Violent tour. There, he assisted on self-titled album track “Fall Away.” He later joined them again for a jazzy rendition of “Ride” at Austin City Limits in 2015. MisterWives were also added as support on the band’s fall leg of the Bandito tour in 2019 where they teamed up on “Cut My Lip.”
The Clique is also very familiar with Meany as Mutemath, who Joseph has said is one of his favorite bands, opened the first leg of the Emotional Roadshow tour in 2016. That same year, they collaborated on TOPxMM EP, which featured a live video and five reimaginings of Blurryface tracks and Suicide Squad soundtrack addition “Heathens.” Of course, Meany also co-produced the band’s latest Trench and offered up that iconic voice on “Chlorine.”
Jeffris, Blum and Meany weren’t the only ones to join the band Friday as everyone’s favorite creature Ned made his TV debut. The Clique first met Ned in early 2019 as he appeared in the video for “Chlorine.” Since then, he’s inspired his own Funko! Pop and an entire pop-up store, Ned’s Bayou, in the band’s hometown of Columbus.
The performance will be hitting streaming services as “Level Of Concern (live from outside),” and you can presave it here.
Check out Ned rocking the bass with twenty one pilots and their friends below.
twenty one pilots first released “Level Of Concern” in early April alongside a music video featuring Joseph’s wife Jenna Joseph and newborn baby Ro as well as Dun’s wife and actress Debby Ryan. You can watch it here.
