See twenty one pilots’ “Level Of Concern” come to life on ’80s computers

twenty one pilots dropped their first post-Trench track “Level Of Concern” back in April and it immediately became a hit. Now, the duo of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun shared a really neat lyric video for the quarantine-fueled hit.

The video uses animations done on old Macintosh computers from the late-80s. It is almost jarring to look at which makes it very impressive.

twenty one pilots’ “Level Of Concern” hasn’t even been out two full months and it has already achieved a number of successes. The song officially dethroned Panic! At The Disco‘s legendary 76-week run atop the Billboard‘s Hot Rock Songs Chart, as well as snagged the top spot on the Top Alternative Songs Chart in just four weeks.

The music video for the song has 33 million views and “Level Of Concern” has been streamed over 57 million times on Spotify alone. The success of the song paved the way for twenty one pilots to give it its live debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. That groovy version was loved so much that twenty one pilots released that recording earlier this week as well.

Now, they’re keeping the “Level Of Concern” content coming with a new lyric video. The video is visually astounding and a brilliant feat of technology. All of the animations in the video were created by Pinot W. Ichwandardi and his family using Macintosh SE and Macintosh SE/30 Computers.

These computers were released in 1988 and 1989. Ichwandardi and his family turned the project into something fun to do during the quarantine. The retro animations include all of our favorite parts of the original “Level Of Concern” video, including the highly-relatable meme spawned from the visual. Check it out below.

If you haven’t yet, check out twenty one pilots performing the song live on The Tonight Show. You’ll get to see everyone’s favorite creature Ned on there as well.
