twenty one pilots snag first ‘Trench’ single gold certification

twenty one pilots have once again seen their way to the top. As of Wednesday, April 17, the band’s song “My Blood” was certified gold by the RIAA.

According to Rocksound, “My Blood” is the first song from the duo’s 2018 album Trench to achieve such an honor, even despite it being the fourth single released from the record.

That said, singles from Trench that still have yet to achieve the same milestone include “Nico & The Niners,” “Jumpsuit,” “Levitate,” and “Chlorine.”

Prior to “My Blood,” the band’s song “Fake You Out” from Vessel was the last song to reach gold status.

According to requirements set forth by the RIAA, songs reach gold status after they sell 500,000 units.

While the news marks twenty one pilot’s latest achievement, Trench as a whole recently was certified Platinum earlier this month. The record sold over 1,000,000 units.

Additionally, just after appearing on Youtube’s top“most-liked” videos of all time, their song “Stressed Out” surpassed 1 billion Spotify streams. that said, twenty one pilots are now one of 15 bands to ever have a song reach 1 billion streams.

Recently, twenty one pilots were nominated for two Billboard Music Awards. The duo will go up against Panic! At The Disco for the title of Top Rock Album and Top Rock Artist. You can check out a full list of nominees here.
