Are Twenty One Pilots releasing new music today?

Twenty One Pilots have officially broken their silence, exactly one year after the band announced their hiatus.

Last July, the band announced that they would be going silent by posting a picture of assorted lyrics and a photo of a closing eye.

Communication between the Clique and Twenty One Pilots have been relatively quiet this past year, and it looks like that silence is officially over. Today, July 6, the band have broken their silence by sending an email to fans.

The email, that was sent to fans who are subscribed to the band’s newsletter, was a gif of a closing eye, with the subject line of: “ARE YOU STILL SLEEPING?”

The rest of the email is black, with only a gif of a yellow eye at the very top:

While we’re not entirely sure what to make of this new piece of communication, we have a feeling that the band are not only breaking their hiatus, but also posting a new song…hear us out.

Last week, the band almost broke the internet after releasing a distorted 8-second song clip to their since deleted DEMA website.

The clip had a file name that sparked a fan theory that set today as the day that new music could officially be released.

The file name for the distorted clip is listed as “_ _ n_ot_myo_nly_fri_en d,” which prompted one Twitter user to look at the dashes:

So, with things pointing to today being the release date of new music, we also have to look back into last night, where we heard one last piece of communication from Clancy.

Read the full letter below:

“They’re asleep. The night took forever to arrive, and now we’re almost ready. We’ve studied the watchers, and know that there’s no chance that we can step through unnoticed. So, instead of trying to hide ourselves, we’ll make sure that all of us are noticed. It’s been one year since the last convocation, and tomorrow’s Annual Assemblage of Glorified will be the biggest spectacle this concrete coffin of a city has seen all year.

If we time it right, we’ll divert the attention of the watchers and finally take the step through. We’ve had no contact, but we’re hoping the other side will be able to find a way in. We’re not sure of the breach location, but we are willing to risk being smeared in order to find it. We know that we must go lower, and wait for the torches. They’ve never seen anything quite like this, and by morning, everything will be different. I’m terrified and excited, all at the same time. They don’t control us.

-Clancy”

We’re not entirely sure what to make of the final piece of communication, but we do have some ideas.

For starters, if you try to go back to the website, you won’t be able to. As many fans have noticed, the DEMA website that was uncovered back in April has since been deleted.

We don’t know why the website was deleted, but we have a feeling it’s because the band is finally ready to break their silence.

As we previously noted, the website contained numerous posts, letters and file names throughout the site, and the Clique immediately went to work deciphering the cryptic clues left by Clancy, who might have actually been the dynamic duo this whole time.

While the website has been deleted, fans were quick to take screenshots of Clancy’s last letter, where some have deciphered that all signs point to something happening with TOP today…all thanks to the dots.

If you notice in the photo, the dots could be a hidden message of a few different things and we’re seriously stressed out.

As the photo in the tweet above suggests, the dots could be saying “wake up,” which would go with the band’s latest email of “are you still sleeping.”

There’s also 12 dots at the bottom of the photo, and last night, a lot of us thought that the band was teasing something at midnight…but what if the band was actually teasing something for noon today?!

It would make sense.

With the email, that was sent at 8:00 this morning (which is kind of early aka a lot of us were still sleeping,) paired with the fact that the dots could be saying “wake up,” and the fact there’s 12 of them at the bottom, maybe the band is teasing that instead of a midnight song release, it could be a noon release…where everyone, or mostly everyone, would officially be awake.

One Reddit userJamgee93, also suggested that the dots could actually be pairs that tease today as the day the silence is over.

“I think it’s 6 pairs of dots. Tomorrow is the 6th of July. And the other dots, up top, are 2 and 1 pairs, 21, as in piløts. But I could certainly be wrong.”

What’s more?

A radio station recently announced, and quickly deleted, a tweet that shared that they had “new Twenty One Pilots music coming very, very soon.”

If that tweet wasn’t evidence enough that the band will be dropping something, the radio station also shared that they were asked to delete the tweet by Twenty One Pilot’s record company:

We also know that new songs from the band titled “Jumpsuit” and “Nico and the Niners” are now listed in two different music databases.

We’re not sure if the band is officially back, but we have a feeling that today might be the day the silence is over.

What do you think is going on with TOP? Let us hear those theories in the comments below!
