twenty one pilots play ‘Trench’ track live for the first time

twenty one pilots embarked on the first leg of the Bandito tour in October, shortly after the release of their latest Trench.

The duo is several albums deep at this point in their career, so they have a lot of bases to hit when filling out a setlist. As a result, one Trench track just made its live debut this week.

On the first U.S. leg of the band’s headlining tour, they mixed in self-titled, Vessel and Blurryface tracks. As for Trench, they hit the expected singles: “Jumpsuit,” “Levitate,” “Nico And The Niners” and “My Blood.” They also played through “Neon Gravestones,” “Pet Cheetah”  “Morph,” “Leave The City” and, of course, “Bandito.”

The band later played “Chlorine” and “Cut My Lip” live, but “Smithereens,” “Legend” and “The Hype” were still waiting on their time to shine. Now, at least one of those tracks has joined the ranks of live performances.

The band are currently out with Saint Motel in Mexico, recently revealing the leg’s poster design winners. They kicked off the first date of this leg in Monterrey at Arena Monterrey Wednesday night. There, twenty one pilots played “The Hype” for the very first time, according to setlist.fm.

The same setlist doesn’t show neither “Legend” nor “Smithereens” being played, but one fan captured what they state is soundcheck footage of the band playing both tracks.
