twenty one pilots have accomplished a feat that no other artist or band has been able to do in well over a year. The duo of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun has officially dethroned Panic! At The Disco on Billboard‘s Hot Rock Songs Chart.
Brendon Urie‘s Panic! At The Disco had held the No. 1 spot with “High Hopes” and “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” since Nov. 2018. That’s an astounding 76-week reign on top.

twenty one pilots released their first new music since 2018’s Trench earlier this month with “Level Of Concern.” The romantic quarantine-themed song captures our mental states perfectly but provides enough rhythm-fueled pop sound to not bum us out.
Let’s put into perspective how dominant Panic! At The Disco’s reign has been on the Hot Rock Songs Chart.
Pray For The Wicked dropped in June of 2018. twenty one pilot’s Trench dropped in October of that same year. The month after Trench dropped, P!ATD claimed the top spot and have held it from anybody else since. That’s 17 months of owning the top spot.

In the first full week of tracking since its debut on April 9, twenty one pilots’ “Level Of Concern” was streamed 10.6 million times in the United States alone. it also racked up nearly 12,000 downloads.
“Level Of Concern” is twenty one pilots’ fourth No. 1 on the Hot Rock Songs Chart, and their first since 2016’s “Heathens.” Prior to that, the hits “Stressed Out” and “Ride” had claimed the No. 1 spot.
If you were wondering, Panic! At The Disco’s “High Hopes” is still set at No. 2 so it could be poised to make a comeback if the twenty one pilots’ momentum doesn’t last. But alas, the incredible streak has been broken.
The fact that twenty one pilots are the first band not named Panic! At The Disco to top the chart in 76 weeks, show’s the talent and longevity of both incredible bands.
