Dun collaborated with Massachusetts drum maker SJC Custom Drums on the matte black, 6.5×14 snare drum that takes its inspiration from his now-trademark “drum island” crowd-drumming feats—whereby the drummer literally crowd surfs on a platform while still banging away at the kit!

“This is a snare drum that can go on the 'drum island,' be hit on top of people,” Dun says in the unboxing clip.

“It's a 1-millimeter steel shell,” the musician remarks of the snare's custom specifications. “A lot of times I use wooden shells but I like metal shells, too. They've got a different-sounding, distinct ring to them.”

“This looks cool,” Dun concludes of the totally blacked-out snare. (Of course, the SJC Drums badge is presented in an apropos 21P red.)
