Two people arrested on suspicion of rape at Reading Festival

According to the Guardian, two people—a 14-year-old boy and a 31-year-old man—have been arrested on suspicion of raping a young woman at the Reading music festival in the U.K.

The victim, a 19-year-old woman, reported being attacked Thursday night “in a caravan on the festival traders' site.”

A police spokesperson told the Guardian: “There is currently a scene watch in place and I would like to reassure those attending the festival that crime levels remain low and crimes of this nature are very rare. Officers are patrolling the site to support on-site security and if anyone has any concerns, please feel free to approach our officers to discuss these.”

Many fans arrived at the festival this weekend to see acts like Blink-182, Arctic Monkeys, Parmore and Gerard Way.

Police also told the Guardian that 21 crimes have been committed since Reading began Wednesday, including five alleged drugs offenses and 13 suspected thefts.
