‘Umbrella Academy’ wedding unites two adorable superfans

On Feb. 15, Netflix and the folks at The Umbrella Academy threw a beautiful wedding for superfans Nick and Kat. Decked out with lots of black, an entire parade made up of close friends and family and a violin player, the wedding encapsulated both the show and the couple’s love.

Additionally, the entire wedding was thrown in the middle of New York City under a black umbrella that spanned 60 feet. The couple also experienced a toast at Griddy’s Doughnut Shop.

“What we gathered from the comics, really, is things can be really dark and stormy all day everyday, but with family, everything is going to be okay,” the groom continues in the video. .

“She’s always been comics,” a friend says of the bride. “The comic book shop — the two of them working there is adorable. Her favorite band is MCR; The fact that it was Gerard Way’s comic was just like — I can’t stress how literally perfect everything that you guys have done is for them.”

As for the couple, the bride wore a hauntingly stunning yet unconventional black dress. After the parade came to a halt, the couple recited personalized wedding vows.

Not only was the wedding Umbrella Academy themed, it also took on a very emo vibe. That said, you can view the wedding photos on Myspace.
