Gerard Way’s ‘Umbrella Academy’ spinoff is getting a deluxe edition

From the beginning, Alternative Press has closely followed all things Umbrella Academy. We’ve seen the growth of the series, which has gone from an indie comic sensation to a Netflix hit. We’ve also seen the growth of the Hargreeves family, remaining captivated by their struggles and triumphs. Hell, we’ve even turned every single page of Gerard Way’s comic series, desperate to learn everything we can about the characters. Along the way, we’ve absolutely fallen in love with unique heroes such as Klaus and Vanya. In fact, we’re so invested in the series, we dedicated an entire issue to the show.

Hype has been growing for the upcoming third season of The Umbrella Academy. Series star Elliot Page recently confirmed that filming is underway for the highly anticipated release. However, fans will have to wait some time for new episodes of the fan favorite.

Series publisher Dark Horse has just announced You Look Like Death: Tales From The Umbrella Academy Library Edition and You Look Like Death: Tales From The Umbrella Academy Deluxe Edition.

The oversized hardcover edition collects issues #1-6 of the series as well as an exclusive eight-page Séance story. The hardcover will also feature a forward by Robert Sheehan, who portrays series lead Klaus Hargreeves in the Netflix adaptation.

You Look Like Death is the vehicle of creators Way and Gabriel Bà, who are joined by Killjoys co-writer Shaun Simon and artist I.N.J. Culbard. The series offers a deeper dive into the backstory of Hargreeves family bad boy Klaus. After getting tossed out of the Umbrella Academy, Klaus heads to Hollywood, hoping his talents will be better appreciated there. But a magical high on a stash stolen from a vampire drug lord quickly finds the misfit back in trouble.

You Look Like Death: Tales From The Umbrella Academy Deluxe Edition includes a slipcase designed by Tony Ong. It also features an exclusive print by Culbard.

While the collection isn’t expected until this fall, there is plenty to read in the meantime. Barnes & Noble is offering an exclusive version of the You Look Like Death: Tales From The Umbrella Academy trade paperback. Due March 30, the edition features a unique cover and a bonus lithograph of the issue #1 cover.

You Look Like Death follows The Umbrella Academy’s most recent volume, Hotel Oblivion. Die-hard fans have closely followed the spinoff since we got a first look last fall.
