Here's how you can win a lifetime supply of Vans and help frontline workers

Vans have been doing a lot of work to support frontline workers amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and now they’re back with a new offer for a lucky winner who will win a lifetime supply of their shoes for themselves and a frontline worker.

The company is hosting a contest where you can send in evidence of a new creative project you’ve been working on throughout lockdowns for a chance to win a massive prize.

No purchase is necessary to enter but you have to live in the US or Canada.

The contest requirements are pretty straight-forward and allow opportunities for anyone who’s doing something creative right now.

“Submit a photo of your latest creative pursuit for a chance to win a LIFETIME supply of Vans for you and a frontline hero! Whether it’s a new hobby, your personal artwork, jam session with your pet or perfecting your skate game, we want to see how you are staying inspired within Action Sports, Art, Music and Street Culture. Submit daily for more chances to win!”

A panel of judges are selecting the winners. The decision is “based on creativity/originality, maintaining positive connections and having an awesome time notwithstanding challenges of social distancing, alignment with Vans’ core values, visual appeal.”

The “lifetime supply” prize contains 10 $1000 US Vans gift cards with a matching prize going to a frontline worker the winner is choosing.

Aside from running this contest and releasing numerous new lines of shoes over the past few weeks, Vans is contributing to creating protective equipment for frontline workers.

Now, they’re using some of the materials for their shoes to make reusable masks and face shields for frontline workers.

Further, a portion of their supply chains are redirecting towards producing reusable face masks from the canvases used for their shoes.

“As a global footwear and apparel manufacturer, we recognize our responsibility to answer the call to help the many individuals who are risking their own health and well-being to provide vital services to those in need during this pandemic. We were determined to answer this call and have since redirected a portion of our supply chain operations to partner with Hedley & Bennett, current Vans partner and kitchen and workwear brand, in the creation of more than 250,000 reusable facial masks made from the canvas we utilize for Vans shoes.”

On top of that, they’re also donating tens of thousands of shoelaces that are repurposing into face shields for healthcare workers.

“We’ve also partnered with designer Michael Schmidt through the donation of more than 40,000 Vans shoelaces to enable their effort to create and donate medical face shields. With two 18” shoelaces required per face shield, the shoelaces will provide a critical component for 20,000 units to be donated to health workers across the U.S.”
