Here’s how buying these customized Vans will help small businesses

Vans is continuing their quest to be the good guy. They’ve recently launched a ton of new shoe lines, including their Autism Awareness collection, milk tea-inspired Old Skools and the “I Heart” collection.

Now, the iconic shoe brand started the “Foot The Bill” initiative where all net proceeds will go to small businesses around the United States.

Recently, a number of companies have launched benefit funds and initiatives to aid those impacted by the coronavirus. Live Nation revealed their crew nation support fund for tour crews. The Recording Academy and MusiCares launched their COVID-19 relief fund. Just yesterday, twenty one pilots teased a new song coming soon with proceeds benefiting those affected by the coronavirus. 

Now, Vans has stepped up to the plate to assist in there own special way—with incredible, customized kicks. Vans already announced they would be paying their employees even after closing their door amid the pandemic. 

The “Foot The Bill” initiative is one of the coolest things Vans has done in a long time. The company launched 34 new designs of their shoes, with each representing a small business around the United States. Restaurants, music venues, art galleries and skate shops are all represented. 

Iconic spots like El Club in Detroit, MI, Skatepark Of Tampa in Tampa, FL and No. 7 Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY all have their own customized slip-on.

The Vans website issued the following statement.

Dear Vans Family,

We know how important small businesses are: We were one.You helped us become what we are, and we want to help our community and extended members of our Vans Family during this difficult time. We have partnered with local and community-driven skate shops, restaurants, art galleries and music venues to support them with custom-designed Vans footwear. Net proceeds* from the sale of each pair of these very special Vans Customs will go directly to our small business partners in this time of need. With the purpose of continuing to enable creative expression, please join us as we lend a helping hand to our Vans Family.

As stated, there are 34 different prints, each representing a separate small business.
