Vans shoes are the reliable kick-arounds we’ve been wearing for years. Today, they launched something very cool for creatives.

Vans launched its first-ever global shoe customization contest—Global Custom Culture.

Global Custom Culture is a worldwide shoe design competition that allows artists all over the globe to self-express and implement their own designs onto Vans’ unique canvas and digital mediums.

The opportunity to put your art onto a shoe isn’t the best part, however, we’ve all been doing that for years. Vans is awarding one grand prize winner from each region—North America, Asia Pacific and Europe—a $25,000 grand prize.

The prizes don’t stop there. The winners’ shoes will be produced and sold by Vans, they will experience a trip to the Vans design headquarters in Southern California, and the opportunity to partner with Vans to donate $100,000 to a charity that will further enable creative communities.

Sep. 5 to Sep. 29 is the sign-up date to compete in the competition. From there, competitors will download and print out a stencil of a classic shoe. After doodling or seriously designing, the artists will photograph their art and submit it to this website where they’ll see their designs 3-D rendered onto a shoe.

The top 10 North American finalists will create a new custom shoe with expert help from Vans’ design mentors.

There will be public voting rounds from October through December. Dec. 19 is when a grand prize winner from each region is chosen by representatives from the design and marketing teams and select art ambassadors.

The participating countries in each region are as follows:

North America: USA, Canada, Mexico

Europe: Germany, United Kingdom, France

Asia: Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan
